The Buckminster Fuller Institute has announced the call for entries to the 2009 Buckminster Fuller Challenge. This is a contest that was created to find solutions to humanity’s most pressing problems. The challenge offers an annual $100,000 prize program to support the development and implementation of the winning idea.

Our world is currently faced with many tough challenges. According to Elizabeth Thompson, Executive Director of the Buckminster Fuller Institute, “We’re looking for comprehensive anticipatory design solutions that address multiple problems without creating new ones down the road – integrated strategies dealing with key social, economic, environmental, and cultural issues.”

The deadline for entries is midnight EDT on November 7th, 2008. For more information visit http://challenge.bfi.org/.
